The port is 222.19m length, 12.80m draft, 23.77m water depth with maximum tonnage
of 60000 tons and discharge line of 30 inches. 2 hoses of 16 inches are used as
well as the permanent use of Sadat tugboat (2250 hp), which is owned by the General
Egyptian Oil Authority for helping in carrier mooring, unmooring and safeguarding
during discharge. It is also provided and equipped by fire combating and pollution
prevention equipment. An equipped scaffold for motorboat mooring at 3 m. depth is
available .The scaffold extends 150 m. from the shore towards the sea eastwards
at a width of 80 m. It is not fitted with any navigational aids for approach. Studies
are executed for the construction of a new scaffold. The port is an imaginary line
extending from the crossing point between latitude 29 48 N and longitude 32 27.15
E then is directed 90 for 2 miles, then 180 for 3 miles, then 270 till the shoreline.
It is located on the 30th km on the Suez Gulf Coast.
Receiving and discharging crude oil produced from fields or imported to deliver
it to the refineries in Suez and Mostarad regions.
