The port is located south El Sukhna port on the Western side of the Gulf of Suez
at 4km south El Adabeya. The port was established on a land area up to 4km2 directly
on the coast. The water area is allocated for Sumid Company by the Egyptian government
and is used as a port for the company's floating units and for mooring and discharging
of oil tankers. The port is equipped with buildings (port office, pilots offices,
staff accommodation, maritime workshops). Moreover, 2 rain waters drainage were
established by Sumid Co. to protect the port from the desert heavy rains. Sea approach
is undertaken through launches using the waterway ( 30m X 300m) established by Sumid.
The port depth reaches 45m , the maximum wave height is 3.5m and current reaches
2 knots.
Capacity: 5.245.463 metric tons in 2007 through 487 tankers.
Fresh water, electricity, telephones through Sumid Co., sanitary sewage (wastes
are discharged in public dumps and an incinerator is being established).
