Transport minister: international conventions with Korea and Germany to develop maritime commercial fleet.

  Dr. Saad ElGuoshy transport minister stated that the ministry has an ambitious plan for the developing of maritime transport sector in general, starting by making alliances and conventions with important countries in the field amongst which Germany and Korea for the sake of raising the efficiency of Egyptian maritime transport sector.

  This was mentioned during legislation update workshop for the sake of developing and glorifying Egyptian commercial maritime fleet Saturday at Alex port in the attendance of a number of Alex members of parliament and Eng. Mohamed Abd ElZaher, Alex governor

   From his side admiral Tarek Ghanim, head of maritime transport sector assured that Egypt ranks 51 all over the world concerning maritime units number it owns in its commercial fleet and in volume and tonnage and these are the units that flies its national flag.

   Ghanim has also pointed out that Panama ranks first with 21 million ton and second comes Liberia 127 million ton.
