Red Sea port authority invites for two tenders.

Abd ElReheem Mustafa  Red Sea port authority spokesman said that the authority will invite for two tenders this year for the establishment of two Yacht ports in Hurghada and Sharm ElSheikh region south Sinai working with B.O.T system.

He also added that the cost of establishment of Yacht port in Hurghada may reach 160million pound, whereas the cost of Sharm Sheikh Port is about 360 million pound.

Mustafa continued that the authority has a plan for developing touristic Red Sea ports serving tourists, declaring that the process of establishing the yacht port in Sharm ElSheikh will be through two stages; the first is of a cost about 80 million pounds including developing the infra-structure whether roads or utilities and raising the efficiency of tourist quays.

Egypt had suffered great financial losses due to the increase in tourism rates last year, as a result of political and security unsettlements.

Hesham Zaezoua, tourism minister mentioned that tourism sector revenues has reached 5.9 milliard dollars in the year2013 compared with 10milliard in the year 2012 with a decrease of 41% .

Tourism and Suez Canal revenues and Egyptians remittances are considered a main source of hard currency in the country. Egypt target was to attract about 13.5 million tourists in the year 2013 before the violence events and Morsi ousting which had led to a retreat in the number of tourists.
