Developing maritime transport sector enables it achieving 50milliard pounds annually.

Member of Parliament, Walid kourkour, secretary general of transport and transportation committee said that transport sector includes authorities that have achieved revenues that are considered the biggest during past period. And that though there are authorities that have continuous losses, yet maritime transport sector is capable of participating in Egypt income with more than 50 milliard pounds once developed and exploited correctly.  

 He also stated that there will be cooperation between transport minister and the committee for the development of all sectors affiliated to transport ministry especially railways during the coming years and declaring that maritime transport sector development lies in changing way of management and will start by changing the administrative system inside such authority.  

 He again pointed out that services provided by maritime transport sector depends on providing logistic services only, thus we are in need of an investment strategy and certain propaganda  to attract investments  and clients and crossing of a bigger number of vessels.  He said that although there are problems in some authorities, there are others that achieve success such as Maritime Safety authority which achieved lately huge revenues, on the other hand some ports are in need of restructuring and employment to reach required success rates.
