Arab transport ministers’ “ 30” session recommendations

  Arab transport ministers’ council has issued recommendations of session number 30 hosted by the academy at Alex for two days’ time.

 The council was headed by Egypt represented in its transport minister, Hesham Arafat, head of Arab transport ministers’ executive bureau in its session number 30, this in the attendance of countries of Tunisia. Jordan, Iraq, Sudan, Libya, Palestine and Yemen  

 The council has recommended handing over the study, of establishing an Arabic environmental center specialized in permanent transport, to joint meeting of transport technical committees, in the attendance of Iraqi representative to be discussed and referring its recommendations to the council in its coming session.

  And the council assigned the academy to be in charge for coordination with Arab League general secretariat and set final format of the report that sets a mechanism for the establishment of two companies for maritime transport and logistics services between Arab countries and South America countries. Recommendations include establishment of an Arab independent center for maritime casualties’ investigations.  The council has also approved supporting UAE file becoming a candidate; attaining membership of IMO executive council category B for the period 2018/2019 and mobilization of Africa, Asia, and South America masses and others to support Emirates.  The council handed over agreement draft of maritime transport organization for passengers and cargo to maritime transport technical committee: so as to have a separate agreement for organizing technical and financial procedures concerning maritime transport of passengers and cargo between Arab countries.  


 Moreover, the council consented to invite UN social and economic committee - West Asia “ElAskoda” to enlarge activating MOU concerning cooperation in Maritime transport field, and inviting any Arab country wishing to join to sign such memorandum, encouraging coordination and cooperation  between Arab countries especially in maritime casualties.  

 Recommendations ended by inviting Islamic league for Protection and Compensation to coordinate with Arab League general secretariat and all related Arab unions and organizations to hold a workshop for all Arab countries and navigational companies to participate, in order to present its role and services to ship owners and privileges of the join of  such Arab navigational companies.
