Search is carried out through one of the following means: Direct Search in EMDB databases, Pre-Designed Reports such as (Lists, Totals, Detailed, Statistics, Comparisons…etc), or through direct search on the Internet.

Periodicals (Bilingual)

EMDB publishes a variety of specialized periodicals (in both Arabic and English languages):

A. Statistical Yearbook

It covers vessels, cargoes, containers and passengers traffic in all the Egyptian commercial ports, including the ports shipping lines performance as well as total traffic of Suez Canal. It also includes reports on the national merchant fleet, the Egyptian maritime units, pollution and accidents, data and maritime labor. The data contained in this periodical are duly analysed from the statistical and economic point of view.

B. Maritime Ports Guide

It includes information on Egyptian commercial and specialized ports, including data on berths, docks, storehouses, equipment, services, tariffs, and the required documents for entering and exiting the ports, as well as the Suez Canal characteristics.

D. Maritime Yellow Pages

Includes the main data on companies and agencies operating within the maritime transport sector in Egypt, including their activities and the services they provide.

E. Maritime Legislation

It contains a number of volumes including laws, decrees and resolutions (and their annexes) regulating the maritime transport activities within the Arab Republic of Egypt.

Designing, Implementing and hosting home pages

EMDB has been linked to the Internet through a leased line to enable international users to have access to EMDB homepages and to the official sites of the Egyptian ports, as well as the specialized ports (tourist- petroleum -mining – fishing). In addition to a homepage for the Egyptian Authority for Maritime Safety and another for tourist yachts in Egypt.

A Current Awareness Bulletin is issued weekly from the EMDB containing the latest news and topics related to the Egyptian and international maritime transport activities.

Designing, implementing and maintaining the MTS web-site, covering the maritime transport activities, MTS agenda, latest news, investment guide and the result of vessels destinations committee. It also includes a database for the Egyptian and world companies operating in the field of maritime transport, as well as statistics, studies and analysis.

Electronic Mail

EMDB subscribers may have their own email accounts at the EMDB server to get electronic correspondence between each other, with the main EMDB center and the external sites.

Electronic Services

EMDB is in a continuous development to cope with the world technical revolutions in Internet application, getting the best utilization by using the EMDB network and the dissemination of pre-designed reports.

Moreover some relevant sites are designed, implemented, hosted and maintained by EMDB, such as the Arab Ministers of Transport Council website, the Pan African Ports Committee, the Arab Sea Ports Union, etc....
