M/S Aida is essentially a lighthouse tender ship but recently it has been used to
train the "Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport" cadets.
Till now, there have been four generations of Aida, namely:

M/S Aida I
Launched by "Ex-Ports and Lighthouses Administration", in 1882, it was a small ship
to supply and transport provisions and personal to lighthouses. It sunk ahead of
Zafarana in World War II.

M/S Aida II
Replaced M/S Aida I, was dedicated to supply remote Red Sea lighthouses till "Senagayeb"
near Port Sudan Port. It was used to transport passengers and cargo from Suez to
El Tour on Red Sea. It grounded in 1958 near El Akhaween Coral Reefs.
M/S Aida III
It was constructed to serve Red Sea Lighthouses as supplier and for the movements
of lighthouses supervisors and maintenance crew. It was authorized to execute cultural
and tourist trips for low charges during its mensal regular voyage. Also, it was
dedicated to train arab academy cadets.

M/S Aida IV
A modern vessel donated to Egypt by Japan, provide water, oil products and catering
to remote lighthouses crew and train AAST-MT cadets. It travels to both Arab and
European countries. M/S Aida IV joined the service (Ex-Ports and Lighthouses Administration)
in April 12, 1992.
